Occasionally someone or other got donked on the head by Cupid's arrow, and laughed, saying it's 'a definite sign', that 'it had to mean something'. One guy grabbed his girlfriend and lifted her up so that she was hit on the head by the arrow, and then said, 'There, now you've got no choice but to fall in love with me', and she laughed as he put her back down on the ground and kissed her mouth.

Little did I know that today was only the start of everything getting very, very much worse.

You know what they say about mistakes though,' she said, all breathy and half-lipsy. 'It's the only way you ever learn anything.' And she leant forward and kissed him. Right there, in the middle of the bar. Right there, in the middle of his lips.

I felt like I'd been angry for months now and suddenly I realised that I didn't need to be. Everyone had shit times. It was just life.

I was going to have the worst night of my life, and they should be there for it. That was what friends did for each other.

And hard times are good in their own way, too. Because the only way you can achieve true happiness is if you experience true sadness as well. It's all about light and shade. Balance.
